Listening Within - Module I
Objectives & Benefits:
Building focused concentration with the conscious mind to begin training it to follow direction of higher self and for it to learn to process understanding of higher frequencies.
Practice switching consciousness between 2 frequency ranges (visual, auditory.)
Trains ego to listen and follow direction from conscious mind while releasing the primitive control over it.
Teaches how to begin turning senses inward for observation, in preparation to learn to assess and adjust later.
Leveling Up Suggestions:
This is a simple, yet powerful practice that you can continuously go deeper and deeper into. Once you get the basics and can “listen in” 3 times without loosing focus, try a few of these adaptations. This is an opportunity to find wonder and delight within! No judgements – just exploration!
Analyze the sounds you hear, notice their rhythms, intensity, speed, volume.
Observe the changes in sounds from day to day.
Step into a sound and listen.
Go in search of sounds behind other sounds and then behind them.
Take your consciousness to different parts of the body and observe the different sounds.
Search for the space within you where there is no sound. Is there such a space?
Audio Recording:
Step by Step Guide:
Start with your basic tuning exercise, that includes creating a safe energy space around you.
Close your eyes and lightly place forefingers on bottom eye lids to close out any light.
Close ears off by using thumbs to press outer ear flap into ear.
Roll eyes up to ‘look’ out the top of head.
Focus all your attention on whatever sounds you hear coming from within the body. – no interpretations just listen.
When thoughts distract you, just pull your attention back to the sounds.
When your arms get tired, rest them on your lap and focus on the colored lights before your eyes.
Just watch the lights without interpretation.
When thoughts float in, swipe them out – like clouds floating by. Refocus on the colored lights.
Repeat 2 more times.
On the third time, listen for the sound behind the dominant sound. Focus on it.
Then take time to absorb the experience with gratitude to yourself.
